Need
AT&T’s Building A Bridge To Possibility is a multi-billion-dollar program looking to help 25 million people get and stay connected to affordable, high-speed internet by 2030. In addition to investing dollars to make this happen, AT&T wanted to strategically mobilize its employees across its national network to participate and help bring this initiative to life through its culture.
Approach
Leveraging their Connected Learning Centers as the focal point of this initiative, Give To Get collaborated with AT&T's leadership and external experts to design backpacks filled with essential supplies, including laptops, that would empower students to access and connect to local internet networks. In partnership with the AT&T Foundation and the Customer Operations Department, we orchestrated a nationwide campaign. This campaign not only engaged front-line employees and field operations teams in the assembly of these vital backpacks but also mobilized them to personally deliver these resources to local Connected Learning Centers, thereby fostering a deeper connection between the employees and the communities they serve.
Impact
Over the summer of 2024, more than 2,500 employees in 17 markets assembled 22,000 backpacks for students. These backpacks helped thousands of students connect to both the internet and local learning centers and NGOs that help cross the digital divide. The effort was inter-disciplinary and gave a tangible experience for its employees to contribute to Building A Bridge To Possibility.
